Catering Insight – Sprint takes Burger King on vacation

Sprint Group designed and installed the latest Burger King open kitchen at a Parkdean Resorts site.

The Pershore-based distributor has been tasked with the latest in this series of deployments at Trecco Bay Holiday Park in Porthcawl, Mid Glamorgan, which was one of the first Parkdean locations to benefit from a recently announced franchising partnership with Burger King UK .

It is also the first of Parkdean’s seven “parks of the future” to open a new Burger King site. As part of a £ 3.6million renovation, the restaurant is located in an indoor complex with its own dining area and surrounded by various business areas.

The project challenged Sprint Group to integrate the open kitchen into a building that was not originally designed to accommodate this format. At the heart of this dossier was the “sustainability” of the kitchen so that additional equipment could be added at a later date.

Close collaboration between the Sprint and Burger King project teams made it possible to run this installation within a very tight deadline.

Sprint has worked with its usual suppliers and partners, including Middleby UK, True Manufacturing, Duke Manufacturing, Foodservice Equipment Marketing (FEM), HTG Trading, ICM – Complete Furnishing Solutions, Mechline Developments, Jestic Foodservice Solutions and East Anglian Installations Systems.

Parkdean is a major local employer and has therefore created 20 more jobs with the opening of this restaurant.
