2022 is fast approaching! Say goodbye to 2021, complete a new calendar, and start anticipating all the bubbling, joyful, delicious and bouncy celebrations that are already on the Southern California agenda in the months to come.
Here’s a look at some of the events to plan for the New Year, including PaleyFest LA, the Los Angeles County Fair, the reopening of an Infinity Room, Disneyland offers, and more.

You may have seen some of the prehistoric wonders of “Jurassic Quest,” a spectacular tour celebrating the Returning Beasts, at the drive-thru of the Rose Bowl earlier in 2021. Now the experience heads to Anaheim at the late 2021 and early 2022., and Ventura in mid-January 2022, as an indoor event up close.

Artist Yayoi Kusama’s beloved “Infinity Mirror Room – The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away” will reopen in downtown The Broad. The original reopening date of January 5, 2022 has been postponed, but stay tuned for a new reopening date.
The Los Angeles County Fair has long been a late-summer staple, but something new is brewing in 2022: The Pomona Party, “the country’s biggest county fair,” will take place in full in the spring. , from May 5.

PaleyFest LA, the television festival that hosts stars and showrunners for an evening of in-depth Q&A, returns to the Dolby Theater as an in-person event. “Better Call Saul” and “Riverdale” are both on the 2022 roster.

OC Fair in Costa Mesa “Feel the Sunshine”, over a month full of shows, fried treats, cute animals and halfway merriment, starting July 15, 2022.
Several productions will visit The Ahmanson at the Music Center, including the famous “Hadestown” in spring 2022.

A weekday Disneyland Resort offer for Southern California residents will launch on January 3, 2022. Several festive events will take place during the offer’s nearly five-month window, including Lunar New Year festivities at Disney California Adventure.

“I’ll Have What She’s Have”: The Jewish Deli, an exhibit celebrating “how delicatessens have become cornerstones of American Jewish culinary culture over the past century, from specialty stores for immigrant populations to national institutions beloved that they are today ”opens at the Skirball Cultural Center in 2022 (opening date to come).

Big changes and big special events are also planned at Disneyland Resort. MagicBand + will arrive at The Happiest Place on Earth in 2022 (a year that will see the launch of a ‘reimagine’ construction phase both at the west end of downtown Disney District and at Mickey’s Toontown) and the popular Nights Disneyland After Dark (including a few dedicated to “Star Wars” in May 2022)

J. Wilborn / Original Renaissance Pleasure Fair
The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire has remained closed in 2020 and 2021, but the Golden Age celebration will return to Irwindale, over several spring weekends, starting April 9, 2022.

Mom’s Touch Chicken & Sandwiches
Several enticing restaurant openings are on the horizon, including the launch of Mom’s Touch Chicken & Sandwiches in Long Beach. South Korea’s favorite, with more than 1,300 locations in Asia, offers a “unique menu of fried chicken favorites.”
The Masters’ no-blinking pageant will take place at Laguna Beach for two summer months, with a start date of July 7, 2022. The 2022 theme? Pack your bags: the venerable event celebrates our “wonderful world”.

The Academy Museum, which opened on the Miracle Mile at the end of September 2021, will feature several highly anticipated screenings, special events and exhibitions in 2022, including “Regeneration: Black Cinema 1898-1971”.
The Rose Garden Tea Room at the Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanic Gardens has been a visitor favorite for decades. Now, after a lengthy closure for construction, the tearoom will reopen in 2022 with more seating, an updated kitchen, and other new features, including a lovely pavilion near Shakespeare Garden.

WONDER WOMAN Flight of Courage, set to be the “tallest and longest single-rail roller coaster on the planet,” will open at Six Flags Magic Mountain in the summer of 2022. It will be the park’s 20th coaster theme of Valencia, which makes it the ideal place with the “greatest coasters in the world”.

Big Bear-obsessed bald eagles Jackie and Shadow spend much of the winter in their high-rise nest, which has recently been fitted with a new camera. Also exciting?
