The Department for Education has named Sodexo one of the UK’s Top 100 Learning Employers.

Employers are assessed on the number of apprentices they currently employ, the number of new apprenticeships they have created in the last 12 months, the diversity of these new apprentices and the progression of their apprentices into other apprenticeships and jobs.

Compared to more than 500 employers across multiple sectors of the economy, Sodexo was ranked 79th in the list, with the organization being the highest-ranked foodservice and hospitality provider.

Sodexo offers a wide variety of apprenticeship programs, with nearly 80 available in areas such as hospitality and catering, IT and business administration, facilities management, health and prison detention , from level 2 (GCSE equivalent) to level 7 (licence level).

Sodexo has a long-standing commitment to creating employment opportunities and enabling colleagues to thrive through learning and views all vacancies and positions as apprenticeships wherever possible.

The Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers helps prospective apprentices, parents and guidance counselors identify good apprenticeship opportunities with leading employers nationwide.

First launched in 2020, the annual Employer Rankings are developed by the Department of Education, in partnership with High Fliers Research, which independently assesses and ranks the country’s top employers.

Sue Davison, Head of Apprenticeships and Early Careers at Sodexo UK & Ireland, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be named one of the top 100 employers for our apprenticeship programme. Talent development is something we pride ourselves on, and we want to ensure that we have a strong pipeline of people across our organization who can start their careers here and go on to achieve great things at Sodexo.

Steven Davey, who achieved a distinction in the Tier 3 Team Leader standard at Sodexo, said: “I would like to thank Sodexo for giving me the opportunity to do this apprenticeship. It was a fantastic learning experience and I really enjoy using my new knowledge at work. It really improves the quality of service my team and I provide at North Devon District Hospital. »
