This New Albany shop serves ice cream in fancy teacups

This ice cream shop in Uptown New Albany is anything but ordinary. Uncommon Cups and Cones is a locally owned ice cream shop that serves scoops in unique teacups to add a little spice to your visit. The boutique on rue Vincennes reopened in June under new ownership after being closed for a few months. Owners Kelly and Dave Tenney loved the original store concept so much that they’re keeping things exactly the same. There are 28 flavors of super premium ice cream made in Wisconsin that can be scooped into a cup, cone or made into a milkshake. If you’re struggling to choose, there’s an ice cream flight on the menu that gives you eight mini scoops of the flavors of your choice. Uncommon Cups and Cones also serves floats, banana splits, smoothies, hot drinks and more. Customers can also purchase a pint of any flavor to take home or reserve the shop for catering. The shop also has a small event space on the second floor decorated with antique furnishings. It seats about 20 people and can be used for meetings, showers, study groups and parties, including tea parties. For more information and store hours, click here.
