Willoughby City parks receive renovations for all ages

Willoughby city

Residents tell us that open spaces are one of the things they value most about life in Willoughby City. Some of the community’s most beloved parks have undergone exciting upgrades and renovations for all ages.

This fenced-in playground next to the Denawen Road stores has been reinvigorated with new swings, a slide, a fort structure and a discovery garden.

New exercise equipment has been installed in this magnificent park, in particular; leg press, body pull-up and push-ups, chest press, climbing station, leg pull-ups / raises, sit bench and three pull-up bars.

Installing a fun flying fox completes the playground upgrade.

This playground has undergone an exciting upgrade. The new dining area for older children includes; a flying fox, a large slide, a hammock swing and a climbing net.

The existing play area has been updated to include a quadruple swing, backfill slide, springs, and a wooden balancing challenge. The wood comes from Eucalyptus sideroxylon (Red Ironbark) which was removed from the site (due to its poor condition).

There are also new picnic tables, shelters and a bubbler. New trails connect the extension area to the existing playground and improve accessibility.

The latest addition to Artarmon Parklands is a children’s climbing wall, which uses the existing natural sandstone hewn face. The wall was designed for older children as a boulder wall to invite agility when climbing horizontally.

Make sure you take in the beautiful winter sunshine by visiting the upgraded playgrounds.
